Big Heart Big Hands raises money for mountain rescue organizations, supports the awareness and implementation of mountain safety education, and assists with funding for those who have been rescued and their families.
The organization is in memory of Jarod Wetherell, who passed away while hiking the Maroon Bells peaks outside of Aspen in October of 2014.
Big Heart Big Hands raises money for mountain rescue organizations, supports the awareness and implementation of mountain safety education, and provides counseling support for those rescued, or impacted, by backcountry rescues.
Through Big Heart Big Hands, Jessica Heaney LCSW provides counseling support to those impacted by mountain incidents. Trauma, grief, depression and persistent anxiety are all aspects that can impact an individual’s well-being. Tickets for the event are $50 and will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres, provided by UpRooted Events, silent auction, and special guest speaker “TBA”, followed by a silent disco with multiple styles of music.
